House, Senate unable to reach compromise on Medicaid expansion proposal during initial conference meeting

While the House proposed coverage for those earning up to 138% of the federal poverty level (FPL) with a potential work requirement, the Senate insisted on a mandatory 30-hour work for expansion eligibility, but only for those up to 100% FPL. The House's plan could 200,000 , with the federal shouldering 90% of costs. The Senate's plan would cover 80,000 and require the to pay a larger share.
