Crackdown on crime in Yazoo County ends in bust
SUMMARY: A man named East died in a car accident in Vicksburg. Three agencies, including the Sheriff's Office, State Highway Patrol, and Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics, teamed up for a crackdown on crime in Yazoo County. They conducted a mass saturation operation, confiscating illegal weapons and drugs. The Sheriff's Office shared pictures of the confiscated items, including an AR-15-style weapon with a switch installed on it and over 50 rounds of ammunition. The agencies worked all day to combat crime in the county.
Fourteen people were arrested in Yazoo County on charges ranging from drug possession, gun charges and DUI.

Interview: Lee-Itawamba Library System hosting Helen Foster Lecture on May 9
