Coast Guard rescues 2 boaters stranded near Horn Island
SUMMARY: Two boaters were separated from their vessel near Horn Island today, prompting a Coast Guard response. Shortly after receiving a call from an aviation training center about a drifting 14-foot aluminum boat, the Coast Guard deployed a crew to search the area. Upon inspection, they discovered a cooler with ice, along with personal items like a cell phone and wallet. Coordination with 911 and the owner’s family revealed that the boat owner and a companion had been stranded on Horn Island overnight. Additional crews were sent out, and both individuals were located without any reported injuries.
The Coast Guard received a call around 10 a.m. from an aviation training center aircrew that reported a 14-foot aluminum vessel adrift in the area.

Pass Christian seawall project set to move forward
SUMMARY: The $2.5 million Phase One of a seawall project in Pass Christian is progressing, aimed at enhancing public safety and reducing annual sand removal costs along Highway 90. Mayor Jimmy Raffy emphasizes the importance of the project, which will include a new boardwalk that will replace the obsolete 1928 seawall and provide safer beach access.
