Search crews spent Monday working to find missing swimmer in Lee County

SUMMARY: The search for a missing swimmer in Lee County has transitioned from a rescue to a recovery mission. Sheriff Jim Johnson indicated that it is unlikely 37-year-old Josh Mallet, who disappeared while to swim across 20M Creek, is still alive. Mallet went missing near the County Road 2578 bridge on Sunday. Rescue teams searched the swollen creek by boat, but efforts shifted focus as the situation grew grim. Dozens have participated in the search, and crews left the after an extensive afternoon effort. Updates on the investigation are expected later .
