Art Park under construction in Laurel
SUMMARY: After a year of planning, the Glory House Art Park is nearing completion, with construction underway for three weeks. The project honors Mandy Buchanan and her vibrant artwork. Executive Director Grant Staple explains that the park will feature a 7-foot tall, 20-foot long mural wall displaying art from local and state artists. The space aims to be a symbol of remembrance and a safe area for children to learn about art. The $25,000 project will include lights, trees, benches, and signage of Mandy's legacy. It will also support after-school programs and community engagement, with completion expected by late August or early September.
