Jackson State, Ole Miss launch law program partnership

Mississippi Senate study group looks at maternal, child healthcare

Chaired by Senator Nicole Boyd, the committee was established following the reversal of Roe v. Wade two years ago. However, challenges remain in reducing child and infant mortality rates. Additionally, Mississippi's youth courts will be another focal point of the discussions.

Gluckstadt police chief on deadly DUI crash
SUMMARY: An update on the wrong-way crash that took the life of a beloved school teacher, Tyra Small Jackson: Chief Barry Hail told 12 News that officers arrived at the scene last Saturday and collected a blood sample from the wrong-way driver, Jordan Leah Sullivan, which is now being processed by the Mississippi crime lab. Sullivan has prior arrests for controlled substances and alcohol, and officers noted she appeared intoxicated on the day of the crash. Jackson's 21-month-old child and her father were also in the vehicle but are now recovering. Sullivan was charged with aggravated DUI and released on a $250,000 bond. Chief Hail emphasized the senselessness of drinking and driving.
