Political science professor analyzes Biden and Trump performances in debate
SUMMARY: Dr. Brian Shoup, head of Mississippi State University's political science department, discussed the recent debate. He believes former President Trump had a stronger performance, appearing more energetic, while President Biden seemed to stumble at times. Both candidates struggled to stay on topic, and the moderators often had to redirect them. Shoup noted concerns among Democrats regarding Biden's long-term viability, whereas Trump remains a solid figure for Republicans. He emphasized the importance of voters critically analyzing the candidates' policies. The debate's format, including the mute button, did not seem to significantly impact the discussion. Shoup suggested future debates could alter public perception.
Mississippi State University political science professor Brian Shoup talked about the candidates' performances in Thursday evening's debate.

Jsu Um Law Partnership
SUMMARY: Jackson State University (JSU) has launched a new partnership with the University of Mississippi, introducing a three-year-plus program. This initiative allows JSU students to complete their undergraduate and law degrees in six years instead of seven. Students will finish three years of undergraduate coursework before starting law school, earning their bachelor's degree during their first law school year. The program promises more than early graduation; it offers additional support, guidance, and a competitive edge in law school admissions. Applications for this new program will be available soon.
